Song of the day

Zach Berkman

Zach Berkman, is a singer/songwriter and music producer from New York City. As well as having a solo album and a few EPs on iTunes, his band The District also released its new album.
Wellfleet, on December 21st. This is one of his singles called Try. Enjoy

Zach Berkman — Try

Solve me and all my problems
You call me
Late nights in Harlem
The street speaks
Like it's a starlet ghost

And always
Your throwing glances my way
You look at me like you could save me
You could you know

And oh look how you shine
I know I could love you if we tried
So try, try, try, try

I've been saving up for this moment
Spent too long in my own head
Now I'm breaking through

And always
I find I'm ending up sideways
It's two steps forward
And one way to get to you

And oh look how you shine
I know I could love you if we tried
So try, try, try, try

We left the dust to settle
Anywhere it wants to fall
Making patterns on the window
Leaving marks upon the wall

We spent our time in silence
But there's something you should know
That I would hold you like the wind
And I would catch you like the snow
(The snow)

So try, try, try, try
Try, try, try, try

This guy is sooo amazing!

Lunch with sis and a little bit of heart to heart

On a not so busy Wednesday afternoon after passing my learners test (I had to re-write it because my learner expired again, Bleh!) *happy cheesy smile*
I decided it would be great to go out for lunch with my beloved sis-ta. So we headed to Primi Piatti in Rosebank to celebrate and indulge in some good 'ol' comfort food.

I needed some serious food in my belly after a rough night with Roxanne and Michelle as well,It was a wonderful night and I was glad to see Roxanne after nearly three years. Roxanne actually moved to the UK and so she was here to visit, what other way can one celebrate such an occasion? Well with plenty of vodka and rock music.

I say nothing in this world beats a Pizza and Orange juice to perk ya up!

I might have gone a little chili crazy though but I really love chili so much I couldn't resist!

Towards the end of the day I had come to the conclusion that Nolo was at war with her pasta in some way and I should keep her away for pasta in the future... just look at that!

Before heading home we decided to make a quick stop at Wolves Cafe for their AWESOME Red Velvet cup cakes Yum!

I reckon this was a a day well spent :)

Song of the day

Song of the day

Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons are a British folk rock band. The band consists of Marcus Mumford , Ben Lovett , Country Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane. The band formed in December 2007 they recorded an EP called Love Your Ground. The song White Blank Page is from their debut album Sigh No More.

Mumford & Sons - White Blank Page

Can you lie next to her
And give her your heart, your heart
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
And confess your love, your love
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before the king
And say I'm clean, I'm clean

But tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh, tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart

A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage
You did not think when you sent me to the brink, to the brink
You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections

So tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart

Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life
Oh, lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life

This song stirs up so much emotions, it is hauting and beautiful at the same time. I love it

Song of the day

Black Kids

i'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you!

The word's on the streets and it's on the news:
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you.
He's got two left feet and he bites my moves.
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance! dance! dance! dance!
The second I do, I know we're gonna be through.
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you.
He don't suspect a thing. I wish he'd get a clue.
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance! dance! dance! dance!

Dress and Tie

This song melts my heart and it is not because the OH SO HANDSOME Darren Criss or the fact that I think he is so suave but because of the lovely Charlene as well.
This song melts my inside and makes me wish that I had some who could wear a tie just for me.

It's Okay

Dear Sub-planter

I think your name should be changed to to something a long the lines of umm...jerk!
I poured my heart out, I let it fill your hands as you open up. Instead of caressing, loving it you crushed it. Polluted the air in my dreams, then you left leaving my world musky and hard.

Its okay.

My wall came down, stepped out of my box and walked the path people call risk. I was ready, you pretended to be.

Its okay.

All your smiles and friendly Hi's, guess they were all lies.

Well here is the thing... you are still a swell guy from the bottom of my heart I wish you well. In fact I  hope you fall into a pit filled with love and drown.

You know why? Well because...

I am okay.

I can do better, in fact I was better with or without you.

The best thing you've never had

           Indeed and we deserve better.

The best cure to a broken heart...it make every okay. OH CATHERINE!

This one was for my girls: Kelly(haphazrdramblings.blogspot.com) & Catherine (cocolove-cocolove.blogspot.com)& Roxanne.

I can so take the heat

What is the best thing to do when you are feeling down and cold.......COOK!

I don’t really have a fancy name for this dish at all so I am going keep it nice and simple.

Curry Prawn with Sweet Peanut Sauce

Potatoes (you can have it with rice or pasta but the potato goes really well)
Curry Power (mild)
Fresh Cream
Olive Oil
Black Pepper & Salt to taste
Syrup (maple or golden)
Peanut Butter

Heat the Olive Oil to sauté the finely chopped Onions and Curry, Then add the Prawns together with the crushed Garlic.
Remember to keep an eye on the prawn as not over cook them, 10 min should be enough because after adding some finely chopped parsley put the pan back onto the stove for another 5 min.

For the Prawn sauce:

Mix a little bit of flour with the fresh cream (this serves as a thickening agent) and then add the mixture into the pan. Place the pan back onto the stove for another 5 min.

Sweet Peanut Sauce:
Heat the syrup in a little pan and add half a teaspoon of peanut butter. Then stir until everything is mixed.

That is it!

I served mine with a backed Potato and it is DELICIOUS!!!

Lesson 1: One Too Many.

It took a few glasses of wine, Zach Berkman, Fay-Wolf and Death Cab for Cutie...so in a nut shell it took some damn good music and alcohol to get me here. Where is here you might ask? Well here is the point where you look back and reflect on life, not in "the secret" type of way though. It is is more like looking into a house from the outside except this house is not just any house. You, your life is that house that you are looking into. The memorise and life experiences make up the furniture of your house, for example the good experiences would be the new furniture that is strong and still in good condition where as the bad ones would be the broken furniture.

WTF!!! How random right? Yeah I know, one might ask: Where the hell is she going with this?

Well I am at a point where at the moment I am outside looking into my house, reflecting on the lessons learnt or should I say my furniture and the people in my house. Every day is a learning curve, the thing we say, the people we surround ourselfs with, the this we do shape our future but most importantly the lesson we learn and what we make of them.

Lesson 1: One Too Many

A lot of people could mistaken the saying "One too many" for drinking or over indulging in something that is shunned upon, I guess. Well my meaning of "One too Many" is a bit different, I have actually realised that in life I have been rejected one to many times, cried, turned to food as comfort, doubted, fought, laughed and loved ONE TOO MANY times. Oh and mind you nothing ever happens once unless it is birth or death and when it does that shit is written, it is meant to be then which is great news for some unlike the rest of us.

There is not one person on the earth who can say I HAVE NEVER BEEN SCREWED OVER, if there is then that person is not human. No fucking ways! but alas we learn and grow. Right?

I for one think it is perfectly normal to over indulged sometimes. When it comes to the problems of the heart it can be a bit difficult because it is the heart that feels and it doesn't matter how many times you have been hurt or how many times you have loved in life even if you've loathed or enjoyed every second of it the feel will always be the same as the last... if not worse. The heart just "remembers" feelings and doesn't keep numbers of how many times you have been hurt, laugh, cried or loved but emotions that trigger those tears when you see a mother and a child on the street corner, that sole bread winner who on his way home after a days hard work but never made it to his family, or the child who had to walk back home from Rosebank to Cresta because his family doesn't care (Struus Bob yo). Those memories and images in your head accompanied by your emotions equals drama.
So I have decided that I have learn my lesson and I am going to say NO! from now on, NO to drama and NO to feeling all crappy and blue. So what if things happen one too many times like they say practice only makes perfect, so BRING IT ON!

That broken furniture can always be repaired and if not I can always replace it. Who knows if I am lucky that couch might even be better that the previous one.

I just need to find my keys first.

Tea is a cup of life

I enjoy drinking tea and coffee but mostly tea. The aroma and the taste really tickles my taste buds...It is Truly Amazing! Teamed up with a warm blanket or a movie this is:

Heaven in a cup!

When I am not enjoying my cup of peppermint, I am having a secret affair with Five Roses Green Tea Lemon and Lime.

Stopped these mugs at @home and I had to have them. They are absolutely adorable, the more the merrier the Tea and Coffee!

This reminds me of...

A Bear Called Paddington (Paddington Bear)

by Michael Bond, Peggy Fortnum (Illustrator)

Mr. and Mrs. Brown first met Paddington—a most endearing bear from Darkest Peru—on a railway platform in London. A sign hanging around his neck said, "Please look after this bear. Thank you" So that is just what they did.
From the very first night when he attempted his first bath and ended up nearly flooding the house, Paddington was seldom far from imminent disaster. Jonathan and Judy were delighted with this havoc and even Mr. and Mrs. Brown had to admit that life seemed to be more filled with adventure when there was a bear in the house.

I also got these mugs, its a pity they don't remind me of a book or a childhood character. What they do remind me of is that I am a I a free spirit, a woman, a fashionista and a lover.

Happy tea drinking friends!
